Bobby E. Ekstrand has recorded several cds. The newest cd, "The Guitar", is the most eclectic. 10 of the 11 songs feature acoustic instruments in a variety of settings from solo guitar to small ensembles. 5 of the songs are Brazilian. One is fron Cuba. Two are English, and three are from America. There is one original composition. Bobby's previous cds have been reviewed in Acoustic Guitar, Fingerstyle Guitar and Dirty Linen, among other publications. He has had much radio airplay nationally and international sales from a previous cd, "Dream of the Serpent Dog", as well as several reviews from foreign publications. He has composed music for NPR and Minnesota Public Radio. His compositions and performances for the documentary "Remembering Jim Crow" were an integral part of the NPR radio broadcast and accompanying cd to the book of the same name. He has recorded on six cds as part of Dan Newton's productions for the Compass Productions label, distributed nationally through Target stores and other retail outlets. Bass and percussion are featured prominently on "The Guitar", as well as flute, saxophone, piano, organ, violin, and voice on "Meditation".
