The Dujka Brothers release their latest recording "Dance, Dance, Dance"
The duo of John and Mark Dujka are celebrating their nineteenth year in the entertainment business. They have appeared at numerous public and private celebrations throughout Texas spreading their excitement for the traditional music that helped build and strengthen Czech and German communities in the state. They have performed at some of the biggest festivals; Wurstfest, Westfest, the Caldwell Kolache Festival, the Ennis National Polka Festival, and numerous smaller community festivals that promote the rich folk heritage of the state. Between the two brothers, they play a total of 12 different instruments during a performance, and their music repertory ranges from the Czech and German favorites to the latest Texas country music and contemporary hits. Their music can be heard on polka radio programs across the nation and have won numerous awards from the Texas Polka Music Association, and from 247PolkaHeaven.com.
Their latest album "Dance, Dance, Dance," features 20 selections, 15 of which are newly recorded cuts plus 5 bonus cuts from The Dujka Brothers early cassettes dating back to 1991-1992.
Special to this CD are 3 original songs by Texas songwriters Daniel Klapuch and Mark Hermes, who's songs "Moon Over Moravia" and "Immigrants Waltz" received accolades from www.247PolkaHeaven.com as songs of the year for 2002 and 2003.
In "A Song About You", Klapuch is joined by Mark Hermes in writing a waltz which descibes a man who's trying to write a song about a special girl, but can't quite put his finger on the write words; only to realize that the song "Pretty Dancing Girl" already says what is in his heart.
"This Song Is For Me and You" is a polka by Danield Klapuch that "hits the nail on the head" in describing all the people that make the USA so great.
"Little Things Mean So Much" paints a picture of a Sunday morning in Moravia, Texas where nature is still pure and the warmth of a touch says so much.
Other notable cuts on "Dance, Dance, Dance" include "Take Me Back To Bohemia", "Polka Time In Texas/Deep In the Heart of Texas Medley" and the title cover of "Dance, Dance, Dance" by Steve Miller, along with numerous traditional polkas and waltzes that are performed with the Dujka Brothers signature style and musicality.
Be sure to log on to the Dujka Brothers website for more information on their music and performance schedule. You'll be amazed by their versatility as they deliver the best in Texas polka and waltz music.
