Ronnie Hurta was the "head Czech" and founder of The Heart Of Texas (HOT) Czechs. The band was formed from a back yard family reunion way back in the late seventies, and originally played the 'ole time Texas Czech style polka and waltzes. From the back yard, the band emerged into a successful state wide traveling show band. The HOT Czechs were especially popular on the private gig circuit, because of the wide genre they performed. At the end of their performing days, the HOT Czechs could play not only Czech polka and waltzes, but could cover top twenty Country, Rock 'n' Roll and Blues. Pretty cool to see and hear a band sing and play Czech music, and then break into some George Strait or ZZ Top. The HOT Czechs laid down their last polka in the early eighties.
Several moons later, Ronnie decided to leave behind a memory of the popular band. In 2001 he started laying down tracks on his 32-channel sequencer, and midi keyboards. Two years later The Lone HOT Czech Plays Again......."High Tech Czech" was born and pressed. The all instrumental 20 song CD was recorded entirely by Ronnie, thus "The Lone HOT Czech." The 20 polka and
waltzes on the CD are Ronnie's favorites, recorded in the arrangement closest to the original arrangement performed by The HOT Czechs, with just a little spice added.
