"The Vision Quest is an ancient ceremony in which one goes to a solitary place, typically on top of a hill, for a time of prayer and meditation to seek guidance and blessings. The intention of this CD is to provide you, the listener, with an oppportunity to experience the magic of going through such an event.

The music presents a story of what might occur were you to go on a Vision Quest, from beginning to end. So sit back, relax, and let the music take you away..."

To say that Jim Savage is a versatile musician would be an understatement. For many years Jim has been creating unique meditation music featuring Native American Flute, panpipe, drumming and assorted natural sounds.

His work is often recgnized as containing a spiritual quality with the intention of creating an "experience" for the listener.

When he's not in his studio recording this type of music, Jim can be found performing around Dallas, Texas in any number of styles. His unique ability to assume a John Lennon-like persona led to formation of the popular Beatles cover band "Hard Night's Day".

In another vein he dons a purple beret and can be found behind the piano playing classic New Orleans music in the style of Dr. John and Professor Longhair in his band "Big Chief And The Boogie-Woogie Wigwam". Or you may find Jim performing his original music in a local school with a group of recovering teen drug addicts as part of his "Imagine Program".

The combination of Jim's musical background with his experience as a therapist and ceremonial leader led to the development of "Imagine", a prevention program for teens.

Jim uses the Vision Quest ceremony as part of his way of creating an opportunity for young people to have an experience of letting go of old ways and experiencing a transformation. His CD "Vision Quest" is a musical portrayal of this experience. Beautifully written liner notes bring the songs alive and literally bring the listener through the entire experience of such an inspiring event.
