this is the finest memorial to mr peng xiu- wen (1931-1996), the "generator of chinese national concerto" who constructed the first chinese national orchestra in 1853. he kept on producing concerto music adopted from chinese folk music and foreign classical music for this ensemble, making these chinese symphonies renowned worldwide. this is a beautifully recorded and packaged set of traditional chinese music that lovers of chinese music or asian culture will be happy to own
