APG Records, a unique multi-genre/multi-media label, announced the launch of Alpha + Omega, an innovative series featuring a comic book packaged with a related music CD. The music CD, "The Beast" produced by APG, serves as a soundtrack to the comic book.
The comic book illustrator, Travis Christian Slate, is an avowed comic fanatic who has been creating fantastic characters since he was 13 years old. Slate cites Todd McFarlane and Jim Lee as major influences on his work.
The Beast's sound recalls the progressive music of the 70s, combined with multi-instrumental jams, industrial soundscapes and a touch of classical and jazz. Zappa & Beefheart meets Traffic.
