Triple grande skinny latte. That's coffee, right? Strange title for an album, sure - but then again for a band from Singapore, named after a His Name Is Alive album, it seems like an apt title for their debut full-length. If anything, coffee like music crosses borders, and if it's brewed right is just irresistible.
Since 1993, Livonia have been developing their own diverse yet distinctive sound, making a prominent mark in both the mainstream and alternative music circles in Singapore. This release captures the band at their most musically adventurous and inspired, going steps beyond their flair for melding continuous power pop hooks and lateral-thinking riffs.
You can tell what goes into the percolator from the wide range of influences that bubble up to the surface, and it's not your run-of-the-mill flat one-dimensional coffee grounds. What you're gonna get is flavorful, hard-hitting emo-tinged rock n' roll with its heart in the classics and its eye on the future. Enjoy the caffeine rush.
