Ali Mandelbaum is singer/songwriter/actress of Cuban/Israeli descent. She was trained at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City. Ali has performed at clubs such as The Duplex, Don't Tell Mama's, Arturo's and Eighty-Eight's in Manhattan, and Luna Park, Largo, Genghis Cohen, The St. James' Club, The Improv, Anastasia's Asylum, and Highland Grounds in Los Angeles. Ali has written over 40 original songs, both music and lyrics, on piano and guitar, and has written and directed three original musicals, "GIRF," "Heavensent," and "So Follow Me . . ." She is currently working on a new musical entitled "Heritage." In addition to Guardian Angel, Ali's debut CD of original songs on AlmondTree Records, Ali has recorded "Dreams of Summer" for Rodell Records' compilation CD, Raw Cuts; "Doctor and Ella" and "The Cradle Will Rock" for Lockett Palmer Records; piano and backup vocals on "The Length Of Our Days," Marsha Attie's debut album on Marsha Rose Records. Ali lives in Los Angeles where she is a member of The Blank Theater Company and CAG (Coalition of Artists for Our Generation) Theater Company. In her spare time, she volunteers on the adult AIDS unit at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and is a "Hollywood Supports" facilitator, lecturing in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, Seattle and Louisvile on "AIDS in the Entertainment Industry Workplace" at different industry related workplaces (Paramount, PBS, HBO, CNN, Fox, Geffen Records, MTV, Viacom, etc.). Ali also lectures on AIDS at different high schools in the Los Angeles area.
