Bones Baker was formed in 1991 with the basic goal of "deriving enjoyment from creating and recording our own original music." The band gets together every Friday at Ma Baker's house to jam and create.
WE LOVE MUSIC Bones Baker was formed in 1991 with the basic goal of "having a good time writing and recording our own music." Because of their daytime jobs and family responsibilities, this has been our primary focus. Prior to forming the Bones Baker, the members played in a "classic and southern rock" cover band for 10 years. Over the last couple of years, the guys have gotten together Friday nights at Ma Baker's house or Walter's studio to jam and create. Their busy schedules have precluded them from performing live, but the Internet has provided the band with an avenue to share their music with others. WE LOVE ALL DIFFERENT TYPES OF MUSIC Bones Baker is a melting pot of different musical influences and interests. The result is a band that isn't easily pigeonholed into one of the many music genres. Pure and simple, they write music that comes from the heart and don't care if each song sounds entirely different. They believe that variety is the "spice of life," a strength, and that a large number of music aficionados also like diversity, right? Okay, if you have to pin them down, their music incorporates elements of blues, classic rock, as well as some jazz. The band has also self-produced a couple of Christmas compilations for family and friends over the last couple of years. WE ALL WRITE MUSIC Not to brag, but everyone in the band can pick up a guitar and crank out a tune or a musical idea when the inspiration hits! So who's everyone, you ask? Louis Baker - Piano, Electric Keyboards, Vocals Influences - The Beatles, Bruce Hornsby, George Winston, any Southern Rock Band. Harold Loeffler, Jr. - Bass Guitar, Vocals Influences -Lynryd Skynryd, The Outlaws, Grateful Dead Walter Manning - Lead Guitar, Vocals Influences - Led Zeppelin, Larry Carlton, Yes, Stevie Ray Vaughn Two previous members Tom Phalon, lead singer and Nick Fahmie, drummer have moved on to other musical endeavors, but from time to time they come back and add their talents.
