Jet Black Combo was formed late 2004.
As you may remember, some of the guys in this band used to rock the shit out of everything and everyone, when they played together in the now legendary rockers 69-HARD . After the split of 69-HARD, some of the members had continued in various projects, but nothing was really satisfying and all of us felt that something was missing.
Mr.Fridlund and Mr.Jeppsson worked with a more "rawk"-oriented project and also had a rockabilly coverproject on the side. It was when forming this coverband they found Mr.Strub, a great and wellknown drummer in the Malmö music scene. I did not work at all with any band after the split with 69, but during this period I always felt a strong urge to go on stage and ROCK, so when Mr.Jeppsson called me and asked if I would be interested in singing in a new band, it took me about zero seconds to say yes! Obviously we had needed this period apart to realize what was important, and now we were ready to fuck shit up once again! We completed the lineup with Mr.Gruvstedt on horns, started working in the rehearsalroom and god damn it felt good to be back! We did about 8 rehearsals, got ourselves a record deal (without the record company even hearing a tone first!) and cut 13 songs in two days, early 2005. We even managed to book our first gig before the band had ever rehearsed or even had a name!!
If you know what 69-HARD did, you know what to expect: sort of rockabilly, but this time with two big spoonfulls of fuck it attitude, some country fried licks and sexy honking horns added in the mix. It is not brainsurgery, it is ROCK, and we are damn good at it.
