Alexe Colbus' self-titled CD shows her signature style with vocals and piano. The collection of songs ranges from mellow originals like “Tuesday†and “Slipping Away†to a cover of Patti Smith’s “Because The Nightâ€. Her writing influence comes from Tori Amos, Norah Jones, and Bruce Springsteen.
Alexe was released on June 6, 2006. New Indie Artists hosted a private concert to launch the album, which has already created buzz at Sony as well as other major labels.
On writing music, Alexe says, “As I get older I am learning many new things and I am able to look at the big picture of life. The one thing I will always hold dear is where I came from and I will never forget where the heart of my music lies. Cherish the small things in life, worry less about the trivial, and enjoy the life you're given because you only get one ride.â€
