Christie Pearson is a singer-songwriter and dancer who has organized and performed in many concerts and gatherings dedicated to the healing of the Earth. Several of these shows have been with Native Americans and other indigenous cultures whose people share a common philosophy of living in balance with nature. These shows are like ceremonial events which stir the soul, lift the spirit and help to heal ourselves and our beautiful planet. They are interactive with the audience so all can experience the power of group consciousness.
Examples of some of these events are: Opening Ceremony for Earth Day 2000, Santa Barbara, California, where we formed a Living Medicine Wheel consisting of representatives of the four races of the world (red, yellow, black and white). These circles were foretold in the ancient Rainbow prophecies. In the West were the Chumash Natives (the Red People); in the East the Tibetan Monks (the Yellow); in the South, the African Drummers (Black) and in the North, the Celtic (White). There were also many of Santa Barbara's finest dancers, drummers and healers. Over 30,000 people came to celebrate this event and the beauty of our environment.
Another show was done with Irene Bedard (Native American actress who was the role model and voice for Walt Disney's Pocahontas and who has starred in several movies such as Smoke Signals). We did a concert and rug show to benefit the traditional Dine (Navajo) Weavers for Freedom from Big Mountain, Arizona, who are the women holding on to their spiritual culture, resisting uranium and coal mining and who we consider to be Guardians of Sacred Land.
Christie also does solo work , workshops in the healing arts and her album, Earth Singer, is a collection of original songs about medicine journeys, ceremonial teachings and about living on power spots with her horses and wolf dog.
