caryn lin began playing the violin at age 9 and studied privately with philadelphia orchestra member larry grika until age 18. lin has a violin performance degree from northwestern university and has undertaken masterclasses with violin virtuoso susanne lautenbacher in germany. caryn has had several cuts from her 4cds chosen for mtv’s “the real world.” her music has been featured on more than 150 radio stations . she has provided musical accompaniment and also appears in the motion picture “philadelphia,” starring tom hanks. she has perfomed live in the u.s. from coast to coast, as well as internationally, for audiences up to 40,000 people. she has appeared with artists from daniel lanois (producer for u2, the neville brothers, and bob dylan) to folk music legend, john gorka. from lincoln center nyc, to the crayola crayon factory in easton pa, “this one woman musical extravaganza is in a class by herself” (philadelphia weekley).
