Throat Culture is a hard-core ensemble from the Bay Area in Northern California. These four musicians (Ian "Emu" Tremayne/bass & vocals, Vanessa "Bitch" Pritchard/guitar & vocals, Beau Sievers/drums, Ben "Benny" Chassanoff/lead vocals) have a unique musical style defined only by the influences of each individual member of the band, rather than conforming to the standard "rap-core" image. They don't change their music to fit the ideals of anybody but themselves. With influences ranging from The Deftones to Herbie Hancock to Dr. Dre. The resultant mix of music is a blistering blend of powerful rock riffs with cleverly constructed vocals and a melodic exploration into areas that standard hard-core musicians are usually afraid to travel.
Together, these four young musicians have created something that's hard to not listen to. As they move out of the Bay Area and begin to expand their fan base, they're becoming more popular and well known in local music scenes. Eventually, Throat Culture hopes to get a record contract and tour, expanding their fan base over the entire nation. Throat Culture is a phenomenon that's difficult to ignore.
