Review from The Southwest Standard

"The musical sound of Creed on a banana peel in a three-way chrome-crunching big-daddy of a wreck with The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Cypress Hill could be described as Burnout Funk. This is also the havoc that results when an AK-47 mates with a Harley-Davidson.

As luck would have it, folks in Springfield are blessed with living among the pranksters that tossed the peel into the menage before hiding behind a wall of sound, giggling maniacally and pointing to the mass of sonic wreckage before being cosmically empowered to act as the originators and guardians of this sound.

So Far Gone represents the Knights Templar of the Funk Table, but the band is willing to share its treasure with the world. With the release of it's debut LP "Greene County," So Far Gone is ready to break out.

"We keep it real," bassist Seth Critchley said. "We don't strive to produce radio friendly songs."

Indeed, the band is not for the squeamish, but its ever growing fan base of wild-eyed screaming teens and beyond becomes more saturated with every show.

"We try to develop our fan base," Critchley said. "People pick up on who is doing it for love, and who is doing it for coin. We are not out of reach. We're easy to talk to, and we're accessible."

So Far Gone, consisting of Critchley, guitarists Heavy T and Matt Pilkington, drummer Chris Davis, turntablist DJ Imperial(known for his major label production and record reviews for magazines Hits and The Gavin Report) and front-man-stage-diver Jason Sain have crafted one of the most unique albums of recent memory to go hand in hand with their already legendary live antics. Mothers hide your daughters.

So Far Gone is a six man band from Greene County, MO. They have been touring and selling out clubs from Minneapolis to Dallas for over 5 yrs.

They have shared the stage with acts as diverse as Papa Roach, Incubus, Candlebox, Seven Mary Three, Monster Magnet, Buckcherry, 2 Skinnee J's, Kottonmouth Kings, Jimmy's Chicken Shack, Citizen King, The Urge, and even one of the New Kids on the Block.

They are favorites among readers of High Times magazine who continually vote them onto the Hemp 100.

In October '99, So Far Gone released "Toy" to radio and the response was immediate. They charted higher than Limp Bizkit, Creed, and Filter in their strongest markets.

With all this success, So Far Gone seems to be on their way to becoming one of the most successful independent bands in the country.
