From the East Bay comes the debut recording of the increasingly popular Agonistic Resemblance (or AR for short) who have released this five track disc.
Utilizing a straight ahead heavy rock sound laced with some mild to moderate hip-hop elements, this well produced (a product of Trident Studios and Juan Urteaga) recording has given AR their initial ticket to the underground scene.
This disc ranges in style, bouncing from a wavy, up and down feel to some all out bark growl vocals to round out the entire effort.
Featuring guitarist Jeremiah Baldwin, bassist Matt Howell, drummer Jesse Rivera and the talented vocalist Nino De La Rosa, AR has put together a catchy, hook laden sound that should draw in a variety of fans.
Some of the highlights on this disc include the opening track "Coward" which opens with a De La Rosa trademark scream and moves into a twisting riff feel, the single note Howell bass walk of "Mammoth Tanks", and really their strongest track "Suburbian Gangster" which opens with a higher level guitar riff and moves quickly, all set to a strong vocal pace.
AR has produced a winner for their first effort, blending memorable hooks, lyrical toughness, and enough dynamics in the song structures to keep the listener interested past the usual two minute attention span.
