The songs on "Sheer Force of Will" range from the dark introspection of "Stain" to the socially relevant anti-drunk driving anthem "Locked and Loaded". "Locked and Loaded" was inspired by Thomas' own experiences on the subject, as he was hospitalized on two separate occasions by drunk drivers. Sheer Force of Will also includes something new to Thomas: a love song (When You're Away).
The CD also includes a fan's dream: an Enhanced CD program that includes the video for the song Black Solace, lyrics for all of the songs on the album, pictures from the video and from the video for Stain, art from the Black Solace video, and other goodies. (Much of this content requires Win9x/NT.)
