DR begun as an acoustic act between high school friends mike & dg in the fall/winter of 2003. they started out playing subways & the jones beach boardwalk, while recording full band mp3's in mike's basement. with the lack of a drummer posing a problem, mike played bass, drums, lead guitars & sung on the early DR recordings.
the first DR recording is known as 'the subway demos'. it featured 4 origionals & a patti smith/don henley cover.
"sometime over the summer we landed our first gig. Center Ice in Wantagh. i was petrified. granted, michael is one of the most talented people i know... but i was pretty sure even he couldnt drum and play bass at the same time." says dg. enter daveb.
when db came home from college he joined DR as the bassist summer of 2004.
after a long, long effort to find a drummer, young roger was discovered through a mutual friend. "we gave him a shot. roger jumped on the scene and we never looked back. we cancelled the other audtions we had, and diminishing returns was full formed" says dg.
DR went on to record a full length album that took most of 2005, the lost years, & have been selling a 5 song promo for it at the cost of $2 for quite some time. After realizing every song had keyboards on it, they recruited mike's brother, matt, to play keyboards live.
opening for bands such as tokyo rose, valencia, the bank robbers, no hollywood ending, etc & headling shows at big name venues in new york city, DR continues to write songs & get tighter & tighter as a band, with no end in sight.
