Described as one of the premier Goth bands, Australia-based IKON formed in 1991 from the ashes of another band, Death In The Dark.

The band, consisting of Chris McCarter (vocals, guitar), Dino Molinaro (bass) and Clifford Ennis (guitar, vocals) make a striking blend of Gothic/Darkwave music, following in the footsteps of Joy Division and early New Order, with a touch of Death In June. The three-piece band have become known as Australia's biggest Gothic export.

To date, IKON have played extensively in Australia as well as Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Holland and Denmark alongside bands such as The Sisters of Mercy, HIM, London After Midnight, Soft Cell, Death In June, The Cruxshadows and the Mission.

A highlight of 2002 was playing at the M'era Luna festival in Hildesheim Germany, in front of an audience in excess of 15,000 people and the 2003 and 2005 Wave Gotik Treffen (the world's largest Goth Festival) in Leipzig, Germany.

2005 sees IKON release their first album in over four years, entitled "Destroying The World To Save It". This CD offers the best songwriting and production seen yet from the band. A hidden code inside the booklet offers mp3 access to 5 more IKON tracks on the Static Sky Records website!
