Currently, Ezequiel Martin Fainguersch is principal bassoon with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Santiago (Chile). In addition he regularly performs in both chamber music settings and in concerts as a soloist.
Mr.Fainguersch finished his diploma of "National Professor of Bassoon" at the "Conservatorio Nacional Superior de Musica Carlos Lopez Buchardo", Buenos Aires, Argentina 1993 under the guidance of professor Guillermo Roura. He then continued his studies in bassoon with professor Noel Devos ( Rio de Janeiro, Brasil) and chamber music with professor Pedro Chiambaretta (Buenos Aires).
In 1996 he was accepted at Indiana University, Bloomington, where he studied with professor Kim Walker. In 1998 he received the Performer Diploma and two years later the Artist Diploma. During his studies at IU he was recipient of both a Fulbright Scholarship and the Anthony and Olympia Barbera Music Scholarship.
In the year 2000, Ezequiel Fainguersch won the Antorchas Foundation Music Scholarship and immediately became a student of professor Nancy Goeres at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, in the Performance Residence Program.
He played several years in the double reed quartet Arundo Donax and the Melos Wind Quintet (winner of the first prize of the Antorchas Chamber Music Competition). He is also a founder member of the Latin American EnsembleTaku.
He has been an active member of several music festivals in South America, the United States, and Europe, including Camping Musical Bariloche (Argentina), Curitiba Summer Festival (Brazil), Pablo Casals Music Festival (France), Spoleto (USA), Indiana University Summer Festival (USA), and the Utah Opera Festival (USA), among others.
He has been principal bassoonist in several orchestras, including: Divertimento Chamber Orchestra (Buenos Aires), Libertador San Martin Symphony Orchestra (Buenos Aires), Indiana University Philharmonic Orchestra, Bloomington Pop's, Camerata Chamber Orchestra (Indiana), Colon Opera House (Buenos Aires), Nueva Leon Symphonic Orchestra (Mexico), Cyprus Chamber Orchestra, Sarasota Opera, Florida Philharmonic of the Nations, Sao Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (Brazil), etc.
