Carlos Montoya was born in Sonsonate; El Salvador. His childhood developed in the neighborhood El Angel, in that city. He spend his teenage years with his grandparents in Zapotitán, La Libertad. He carried out his academic education in the school Thomas Jefferson, in Sonsonate.

His passion for music was in his blood since very early age. The artist remembers that since he was very small, he used to stand facing the newsstand of the park to imitate the musicians of the Regimental Band of Armenia who played at that moment. He was lucky to count with immediate access to the backstage because his father was one of the musicians that formed the band. His father, Santiago Efraín Rivas, played the saxophone and his friends called him 'El Paisa.' Through him, Carlos found sense to music when he bought him a saxophone and a xylophone when Carlos was barely 9 years old.

But Carlos recognizes that his deepest passion goes to, and will always be for The Guitar and popular music. He managed to buy an old guitar and little by little he modernized the old instrument. From there on, his inspiration to write songs became unstoppable. After a while, it arised in him the desire of venturing in The United States of North America.

Carlos comments: "I know I've taken a long time to do this production (as some have tirelessly pointed it out), but the wait has been worth it! I am very happy with the results." He also reminds his people that: "I'm just an example that there are many talened artists hidden in the interior of the towns and cities of our countries that want to fulfill their dream to record their music, and although their circumstances momentarily don't allow them to carry out such desires, I tell them: Keep your heard up! , do not stop at anything! ... work hard to reach your goals!, because 'Wanting is Achieving'."

Carlos is very proud to have taken his music to Chicago and New York. But with the production of this CD, he thinks he will cover more territory in The United States, and he'll also be able to carry out his music to his country, El Salvador so that his people know who is Carlos Montoya, Salvadorian by Heart!
