Alfredito Payne was born in the city of Almirante,Province
of Bocas Del Toro, Republic of Panama. He came from a family of talented musicians. His father(Bill Payne was a trumpet player and band leader in the Province of Colon)
Alfredito started his musical career at the early age of 10 Participating in talent shows in school and local radio stations from his home town.
He formed his first group "LOS HB DE BOCAS DEL TORO" at the
age of 14 with some of his friends from the neighborhood.
he then recorded his first single at the age of 17 thereafter they started playing for concerts and dances
all over the country. Such as Chiriqui,Veraguas,Los Santos,Chitre,Penonome,Chorrera,Colon Panama City and Limon Costa Rica.
In 1976 Alfredito went to Costa Rica to work with "The Peace Makers" from Siquirres,in the Province of Limon. Six months after they travel to do concerts in Boston, Connecticut, Miami, New Jersey,and California.
After Completing this tour,Alfredito Decided to
to stay in New York City, to be part of a group of Panamanian musicians called "The Professionals".
He shared stages with artist like Oscar D'Leon, Tito Nieves, Camilo Azuquita,Tito Puente,Luis "Perico" Ortiz,Wilfrido Vargas,Ismael Rivera,Celia Cruz,Johnny Pacheco,Mark Anthony,Pete "El Conde" Rodriguez Just to name a few.
In 1986 Alfredito started working with a very popular haitian group called "Tabou Combo" he then recorded his
biggest hit song "Fiesta" then started touring to different
countries and cities like,"France,Canada,Haiti,Costa Rica,
Panama,Miami,Boston,Chicago,California.
In 1990 he worked with the Dominican born Salsero Jose
Alberto "El Canario" then toured Venezuela,Curacao, and
Colombia. He also worked with Orquesta Tipica Novel and
Mikey Taveras.The Versatility of this Artist has always
made him a special attraction in concerts and shows in the
Latin-Afro Caribbean Community abroad and in the United
States.
Alfredito is a solo recording artist from an independent
label.
