Country music recording artist, Dave Aguallo, is returning to Chukchansi Gold Casino for a free concert May 5, at 8 PM. Also, in celebration of Cinco de Mayo, the great mariachi sound of Zapopan, will join Aguallo on stage later that evening.

Aguallo, a native of Selma, is well known in the Central Valley having performed for more than 12 years with his initial band, “Dave and the Fabulous Classics.” Over the years he has opened for and performed with such artists as Los Lobos, Texas Tornados and the great Mary Wells. His fans include a following who love his distinctive, entertaining way with Oldies such as ‘Stand By Me’ and “We Belong Together.’

Dave’s first CD, simply titled “Dave Aguallo,” was a great success with songs such as ‘Neon Wishing Well,’ ‘New Mexico Moon’ and a bilingual version of the classic Mexican love song, ‘Volver, Volver.’

Aguallo recently released his second CD, “Nashville And Then Some,” which is sure to be a major hit. The development of this latest release began last December in Nashville and includes some of Country Music’s best session musicians. According to Phil Swann, veteran songwriter and producer, “This new CD will not only please his great fan base, but also expand it.” Four songs on the upcoming CD will be covers of classic tunes Dave has performed over the length of his career. Emma Elena Valdemar’s 1953 classic bolero song, ‘Mucho Corazon’ is an example of Dave’s family roots. His mother and aunts sang this tune at family gatherings and Dave usually dedicates it to them during his live performances.

Also sure to please is Dave’s rendition of the Web Pierce tune made popular by the legendary Patsy Cline, ‘Leaving on Your Mind.’ Another absolute total crowd pleaser is Dave’s version of the Beatle’s hit song, ‘All My Loving.’ Audiences at recent performances were obviously moving to or being moved by his classic interpretation.

Aguallo has been a crowd pleaser for more than 20 years, performing mariachis, oldies, soul, rock and roll and country music. He has been honored to sing our National Anthem at major league baseball games and has performed throughout California. He grew up in Selma, in a hard working, close knit family. From his roots Dave developed his musical experience and began singing as a teenager. He learned quickly the importance of voice command and rapport with the audience to give a truly enjoyable and professional performance that won’t be forgotten.

“I think entertaining is the most important thing,” he said. “If the audience is not entertained, I have not done my job. I am fulfilled by the joy of audience reaction to my show.”
