Water Torture, the Barking Mouse, and other tales of wonder has won the Parents' Choice Silver Honor and was named an ALA Notable Children's Recording.

Antonio Sacre, born in Boston in 1968, is a nationally touring storyteller, actor, and solo performance artist based in Chicago. He earned a B.A. in English from Boston College and an M.A. in Theater Arts from Northwestern University. He has told stories at the Kennedy Center, the National Storytelling Festival's Exchange Place, and schools, libraries, and festivals nationwide.

Since 1997, he has performed with "Tribes and Bridges", a story theater presentation exploring race relations and diversity with storytellers Susan O'Halloran and La'Ron Williams. For information on Tribes and Bridges, visit www.racebridges.net.

As a solo performer, Sacre has performed in festivals and theaters nationwide under the mentorship of Jenny Magnus at the Curious Theater Branch in Chicago. At The New York City International Fringe Theater Festival, Sacre was awarded a Best in Fringe Festival award for Excellence in acting in 1997, and Excellence in Solo Performance in 1997.

He is a member of the Redmoon theater company in Chicago, a mask and puppet theater company that creates community based ritual celebrations, as well as intricate and beautiful theater productions.

Since 1994, he has taught drama, storytelling, and writing to teachers and students nationwide, and worked as artist-in-residence with youth in High Schools in New York, Chicago, and South Central Los Angeles. He shares these experiences in keynote speeches and district-wide teacher trainings and staff developments across the country.

He is available for performances, workshops, staff training, keynote speaking, and short- and long-term residencies nationwide.
