"Every Mother’s Dream"...the smooth jazz album from keyboard player Brian Dring features 11 original compositions flavored with R&B/funk, Latin jazz, acid jazz, and includes a classical piano solo on the last cut "Special K." Brian gets all the sounds right including sax, trumpet, upright bass, jazz guitar, vibes, and of course piano.

Originally from Montreal, Brian spent his musically formative years experiencing the city's thriving jazz scene and unique cultural mix. He made his on-stage debut with the Ivan Symonds Band at the legendary but now-defunct Rockhead's Paradise.

Migrating to Connecticut at age 23, he has been playing R&B and jazz engagements in the New England area for over 15 years. He is currently a member of the New Haven-based quartet "CLC Connection" with whom he has backed a number of visiting luminaries such as Chris Calloway (daughter of the legendary Cab Calloway) and opened for Tower of Power.

With a day gig as an analytical chemist, Brian also writes a column on Caribbean music for Beat magazine (www.getthebeat.com).

“Every Mother’s Dream” was conceived as a project that would capture his personal musical vision as well as the many subtleties often lost in the larger dimension of “live” performance. Brian cites the musical influence of such artists as David Benoit, Brian Culbertson, and Joe Sample among today's smooth jazz players.
