Wendy Sayvetz began her folk-singing career in January of 1990, in New York City, performing at Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station as part of the MTA's Music Under New York program. Since then she has sold over 20,000 copies of her five recordings, four of which were produced/released by her own label, Abaca Productions and one - the most recent, "Track 39" - produced/released by zoomTone Records. All are available on CDBaby. She performs several times a week with Music Under New York and also appears at local arts centers - including guest appearances with her husband, guitarist Andrew Schulman, and his string quintet, the Abaca String Band. Wendy's concert programs - as well as the repertoire on her recordings - combine classic, traditional, and contemporary folk songs along with a few show tunes arranged in a light folk style. "The Quiet Joys of Brotherhood" is Wendy's first release, recorded in 1991. She is backed by her music director and arranger, guitarist Kevin Kuhn along with other top New York City free-lance musicians playing classical guitar, cello, recorder, piano, bass, and percussion on selected songs.
