Monte Cristo Records is an independent record label, music publisher and CD/DVD production studio located in North Bergen, New Jersey and founded by David Monte Cristo and James Michaels. Since 1995 Monte Cristo Records has produced 9 CDs, 12 CD mixes and 1 DVD.
David Monte Cristo was born in Tbilisi, Georgia and came to the USA after brief stays in Israel and Italy. He has been living and working in New York/New Jersey for the last 25 years. In the studio he sings, recites poetry, composes, plays keyboards, synthesizers and piano, programs sounds, drumbeats and digital effects, produces, arranges, mixes and records CDs and DVDs and shoots video.
James Michaels was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania and graduated from Columbia College/Engineering with a B.A. and B.S. (Columbia's Combined Plan) and went on to receive his doctorate in Chemical Metallurgy from Columbia University. He has been living and working in New York/New Jersey for the last 25 years. As a metallurgical consultant and international metals trader, he has worked and traveled in Russia, Georgia, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Spain and Germany. As a research electrochemist and product specialist in the Printed Circuit Board and Semiconductor Industries, he has worked and traveled in France, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and PRC. In the studio he plays piano, keyboards and synthesizers, produces, arranges, mixes and records CDs and DVDs and shoots video.
