As accomplished musicians who have all studied various aspects of jazz and/or classical, the members of bluRumi offer a unique experience with each and every song from their extensive catalog of original material.

With rumi on vocals and guitar, Mike Holowatch on drums, Jason Kraut on bass, and Matt Baram on keys - bluRumi has the rare ability at a show to switch from performing a note-for-note recreation of a studio recording... to taking it into the outer reaches of a twelve minute hallucinatory opus.

While performing they will often introduce a song by musically quoting well-known artists (like Jimi Hendrix, Eminem, and Metallica) and at other times stretch out arrangements of composers (like Miles Davis or Thelonious Monk), incorporating modern rhythms and soundscapes.
