Dj Momentum (aka Randall Blakeslee) signed with the Eastern Breakz Movement, November of 2001. His distictive, production style has added depth to the EBM and Xquizit camp. With a full-length, all original. mixed CD and 4 scheduled EP releases under The EBM, this new talent is sure to make his mark on the breakbeat map.
Dj Momentum's diversity has been classified from funky to intelligent breaks. The 19 tracks featured on "Music & Motion" nearly spans across the full spectrum. From gated vocals, turntable samples, dirty bass to harmonic vocals. No one specific sub-genre can be Momentum's sole classification.
He began the madness in '95. With his love for breakbeats and hip-hop, he incorporated both styles within his mixes. After his residency in his bedroom and paying his dues as a start up DJ, he moved onward to compete in Virginia Beach 's 96X (The Party Pit) DJ contest. He was showcased twice on the show and moved onwrd from there. Since "The Party Pit," he's headlined with such caliber artist as Cirrus; as well as playing for peanuts in much smaller parties, in the middle of nowhere, in front of 10 people. This up & coming artist is sure to make waves within the breakbeat community. Be on the lookout for DC's latest addition to the breakbeat scene.
