C/A/T is the main project of Crunch Pod label founder, Ben Arp.
C/A/T began in 1997 as an avant garde experimental project, evolving
into a rhythmic noise act in the late 90s and making some high profile
compilation appearances on both European and American labels.
Everything changed on a certain Tuesday morning in the Fall of 2001.
C/A/T spent the next three years building towards the material that is
found on this EP. Hours and hours of research and thought went into
the four tracks presented here. The basic theory of the album is based
on a principle called "Problem-Reaction-Solution" that has been used
by various researchers in describing situations, like 9/11, that have
occurred worldwide. While current President George W. Bush is
singled out via the artwork and on tracks like "Reaction (Official)",
C/A/T does not mean to imply that Bush alone is responsible for the
death of so many people worldwide. On the contrary, C/A/T believes
that an international network of 'power elite" are pulling the strings.
Musically, C/A/T presents a sound that is part experimental, part
rhythmic noise and part esoteric; incorporating more melodic
elements than in previous works. The WTC EP also serves as a
bridge between C/A/T's early sound and the style the project is
currently evolving towards. A full length album, entitled "The
Prisoner" is currently under production and is scheduled for an
early 2005 release on Crunch Pod.
The WTC EP was professionally mastered at Metarc in Canada.
