Biography
King of a Moonlit Night
King of a Moonlit Night is not a blues song but a song about the nature of the blues. That magical mysterious music I believe in has definitely had an influence on me as a Musician.
Each of the songs on this album slips into a style but the same silver blue thread runs through each song giving them "that feel". Recorded in Scotland at Carfin's Revival Studio.
From the Country Rock of the opening song "Word from the King" to the fifties style of "Six Rounds With Joe Louis" the folksy "Eyes of a Drifter" to my rock'n roll sea chante "Venice Belle". This my debut album I still love playing some of the songs in my live set.
Ian Murray played Drums, Tracy Gilbert Bass, Brian Willoughby Lead Guitar, Frankie McCallum Keyboards, Big Jim McGrath Percussion, Paul Taylor Guitar, Keyboards and Washboard. Tricia Dickov Backing Vocals, Kip Smith Drums on "God's Water", Stuart Law Accordion and myself on Harmonica and 12-string Guitar and Lead Vocals. Paul Taylor Sound Engineer.
My first official release in 1993 set a steady course which I still follow today.
