Barbara Paris is an excellent jazz vocalist able to
make even war-horses sound fresh through her enthusiasm
and subtle creativity.

Paris has received many favorable reviews on her
four self produced cd's Jazz Times, Jazz Hot, Jazz Now, L.A. Jazz Scene, Downbeat, Cadence, and in both volumes of All Guide to Jazz Music. She has performed in, Paris, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, and San Francisco.

Some of her special moments include being asked
to sit-in with trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, guitarist Joe Pass,and trombonist Al Grey.

A Colorado native, Barbara has worked in the Boulder Denver area since 1985. Singing at venues such as Trios, The Stanley Hotel, Burnsley Hotel, The Boulderado Hotel, Dandelions, Hapa, The Mediterranean, Tates on Main, Delta Grill, Fionna's, Manhattan Grill, The 4th Story Restaurant, Enotecas, and Twisted Vine, Bacaro's, Hapa's, and Sambuca's Restaurant.

She performed 2001 at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. Also the Gaylord Festival and Downtown Denver Jazz Festival and the Longmont Jazz Festival 2003.

Most recently, a cd release was sponsored by the Dairy Center for The Arts and with an attendance of 150.

Her work has been reviewed locally in the Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, Daily Camera, Times Call, Colorado Daily.

Her CD's have been reviewed in JazzTimes, Jazz Hot, Jazz Now, Cadence, Downbeat and LA Jazz Scene. Paris is also included and reviewed in "All Music Guide to Jazz" 1st, 2nd, and 3rd edition, Miller Freeman Book editied by Scott Yanow and others. Also included in "Singing Jazz, the singers and their styles " by Bruce Crowther and Mike Pinfold, Miller Freeman Books.

Barbara Paris is a swing bop-based vocalist whose
sincerity and appealing simplicity lend to a spirited performance of American jazz standards.

August of 2003 she begins a new direction with a Swing and blues band called the Barbara Paris Swing quartet. It will be a combination of swing, jump and blues. Very fun complilation of material good for dancing and lifting your spirits. Available for bookings and perfomance for concerts and private parties, weddings, workshops courses and individual instruction.
