"Finalist: Best Lullaby CD!" (Children's Music Web Awards, 2004)
"Two words for your Lullaby CD and they would be: Goose Bumps." (Carol S.)
"I gave it to my 11-month old grandnephew for Christmas, but I listened to it first. Oh my!! Absolutely beautiful!" (Jean C.)
"Phenomenal..." (Gerry M.)
"It is WONDERFUL!!! The only time (our child) is consistently receptive to input is when he's in his crib or carseat, so we've been playing your music at night, in the AM and every time we're in the car. He's so used to it now, we even know his favorites! You have a beautiful voice and I love the way you adapted some of the songs to make them more kid-friendly. You are truly talented!!" (Britt & Barry J.)
"I could not stop listening! 'Froze out in my car - did not want to stop listening to go do my holiday shopping!" (Ruth B.)
"You painted with music!" (Phil G.)
"Blissfully peaceful." (Deb N.)
"Ryan had already been asleep for a half hour and we just kept listening..." (Sarah P.)
"WOW! You have awesome talent! We enjoyed every measure of the music. You make the children's music especially wonderful for adults also!" (Jim & Jean M.)

The Music Lady, Inc., (also known as Beth Hodgkins Green), is a
professional children's music educator, entertainer and CD recording artist who hosts musical enrichment programs at many Massachusetts schools and libraries, and parent-accompanied, age-appropriate musical enrichment classes for parents and children ages 0-6 in her private studio. Also a director of three children's choirs, Beth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Dramatic Arts/Music, (SBC '89!) and is a member of several professional musical education affiliations: ECMMA (Early Childhood Music and Movement Association), MENC (Music Educators' National Conference), and AOSA (American Orff-Schulwerk Association). Beth has received her AOSA graduate certification, continuing to progress toward her Master's Degree in Music Education. Also a member of NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), MMEA (Massachusetts Music Educators' Association), and CMN (Children's Music Network), Beth uses the musical education approaches of Orff-Schulwerk, Kodaly, and Solfege, and incorporates them very gently into her programs, so that the children can feel invited to participate in a myriad of ways, without pressure to perform. Frequent sing-along's, accompanied by Beth on the guitar, autoharp or keyboard, help to create the family-fun, easy atmosphere.
Sampling of studio quotes from parents of enrolled children:
"Our two sons have been attending The Music Lady's classes since the six year old was one and the four year old was in-utero! They have gained a great love and appreciation for music. They both sing spontaneously while playing or riding in the car or stroller, or when falling asleep or upon waking. The four year old enjoys making up silly words to familiar tunes and trying to guess what instrument he's hearing when we listen to music. The familiar organization of The Music Lady's class mixed with the novel and fun activities are ideally geared to this young age group. We enjoy listening to her tapes and CD, to which we sing together on long car rides. Her beautiful voice is easy listening for adults, too! We believe that The Music Lady has laid the foundation for our sons to have a musical life!" --- Barbara Shephard, M.D., Neonatologist, Floating Hospital for Children, & Ivan Frantz, M.D. , Chairman of Pediatrics, Tufts University School of Medicine
"The Music Lady has a wonderful, developmentally-appropriate approach to musical fun for all ages. My children love her class!" ----- Danette Colella, M.D., Mother and Pediatrician
"We love the learning tapes and CD...my wife and I have literally been held hostage in our driveway by our child who refuses to get out of the car until The Music Lady is done singing!" --parent of child enrolled at studio
"Thank you for your beautiful CD. I listen to it even when I am by myself, and Emily is at school!" --parent of child enrolled at studio

To my dear listeners: as you will note, some of the lyrics (like "baby", for example) have been thoughtfully and subtly modified (airbrushed!) to reflect other suggestions for nurturing terms of endearment, such as children's individual names, and other models, so that as your children get older, they can still consider this CD to be music for them for years to come, and not just music for babies or "little kids"! As with the first CD, another reason for this is to encourage you to suggest appealing, alternative lyrics for your children. In my experience, some of the very best songwriters are the parents, who cradle, rock, lull, nurture, cuddle, and otherwise comfort a sleepy or perhaps sick child, sometimes for long hours into the night. Some people make up words simply because they don't know the words to a particular song. Bravo! Keep writing, keep creating - you will never regret it! J This CD salutes parents for "being there 24-7", (as my son Michael says!), at bedside, at cribside, in rockers and wherever else they comfort their children, aiding them in the safe passage to serene slumber and peaceful rest. May music always be there with you, along the way. Sweet dreams!

A portion of the proceeds from this CD will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a non-profit foundation established by parents of children with juvenile diabetes. This disease strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin-dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. The mission of the JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Since its founding in 1970, the JDRF has provided over $600 million for diabetes research, more than any other nonprofit nongovernmental health agency in the world. My choice of foundation donation recipients this time was inspired by 4-year old Ryan (The Music Lady's neighbor!), a young diabetic, who must be brave several times a day, and take his medicine via injection. To inquire about sponsoring local walker in a Walk for the Cure in your area, or for more information, please contact them online at www.jdrf.org. Thank you!
