Alain Pierre PRADEL Composer
Born on July 5th 1949 in Guadeloupe, former French colony in the West indies. Alain Pierre PRADEL began to study the piano at the age of 12,in the rather casual manner typical of the Islands Three years later he interrupted his training. Sensitive by nature, young Alain Pierre went through all the stages of his education with obliging skepticism. But what he really loved was music : the piano. His rural environment did not make it easy to acquire musical training.
Classical works not too highly valued, tended to be neglected in favour of local music. Each of these two traditions hold an equally important place in the young musicians affections. .They are a source of inspiration reflection and deeply felt emotion. His desire was to be loyal to both and even to find a way of bringing them together despite discouraging preconceptions...
The "Creole pieces", a musical testimony to regional identity and to a particular art of living ,were greeted with enthusiasm by concert pianist Tatjana RANKOVICH , who agreed to study them and record this first C D comprised of seven pieces on August 27 ,1999 at the Patrych Sound Studio in New york and a second in the same place the june 25, 2000.
