The Cadaqués Orchestra, resident orchestra of the Cadaqués Festival in Northeastern Spain, is one of Europe's leading festival orchestras.
Made up of musicians from throughout Europe, the Orchestra convenes regularly to participate in important series and festivals in Spain and abroad. Future performing plans include a tour of Spain in October, 2004 with Michel Camilo, and a tour of Florida, U.S.A., and the Dominican Republic in March, 2005.
In its fifteen years of performing the Orchestra has developed a reputation for programs that match better known works from the symphonic repertory with other, more innovative works, especially rediscoveries of important pieces from the musical heritage of Spain and premieres of works by contemporary composers.
The Orchestra also participates regularly in opera productions as the titular orchestra of the Peralada International Music Festival.
The Orchestra has recorded with Paco de LucÃa, Sir Neville Marriner, Gianandrea Noseda, Philippe Entremont, and Salvador Brotons for the Phillips and Tritó labels.
