Whether it be raising the temperature of the concert hall with sizzling tangos or cooling one's heels in an elegant serenade of Baroque and Classical masterworks, audiences attest to the power and intimacy of the Heim Duo's music making. Pan Magazine of the British Flute Society called their performance of Robert Baksa's Celestials "a dazzling performance of a dazzling work!"
Presenting compositions by living composers in an audience-friendly way has won the Heim Duo special praise from their audiences. Their repertoire includes works for flute and guitar by living composers including Gary Schocker, Gwyneth Walker, Katherine Hoover, Robert Beaser, Judith Shatin, and Stephen Dodgson.
The Heim Duo's performance at the National Czech and Slovak Museum was described as "absolutely astonishing!" Their performance of Luigi Legnani's Duo Concertante at the 2000 Red Cedar Chamber Music Festival was hailed by its artistic director as "stunning and elegant."
The Heim Duo shares a musical embrace in their compact disc The Memory of a Dance. [Centaur 2559] Recorded by Grammy-nominated engineer Peter Nothnagle, the disc features premier recordings of several works including The Memory of a Dance and English Suite No. 4 by the eminent British composer-guitarist John Duarte.
