"On this 16-track disc Blue Combo, a guitar/keyboard quartet fronted by the powerful alto vocals of Rebecca Ungerman, present a pleasurable blend of blues, New Orleans R&B and swing. "Give Me Your Love" is a gently rolling piece of N'Awlins pop just right for doing the stroll and "Greasy Gravy" is an uptempo, organ-led workout in the manner of Jimmy Smith. On the blue side, "I Want A Little Sugar In My Bowl" suggests Ungerman's skills with a slow blues while the uptempo instrumental homage "T-Bone" showcases the guitar of Rusty Miller and evokes one of the classic collaborations of T-Bone Walker and Lloyd Glenn. The wide range of blues-based musics here are performed with understated restraint and style."
