Barbara Stephani has extensive experience as a jazz/pop vocal performer in Milwaukee, Chicago and regional areas. Beginning to perform at age 13 with her jazz-guitarist father, she started out learning the styles of Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington. She then went on to perform with large show bands mastering the styles of r&b, rock, funk and pop music.
Her influences include a diverse list of artists ranging from Nancy Wilson, Etta James and Eva Cassidy to Sting, Earth Wind and Fire and Tower of Power. Vocally, she is a master at authenticating any style she goes after with a polished, powerful sound. With her 10-piece r&b group, Cold Sweat and the Brew City Horns, she is a regular performer at every major music festival in Milwaukee including Summerfest, River Splash and Rainbow Summer.
Her smaller combo, The Barbara Stephani Group who just released "The Only Day" has been seen at Jazz in the Park, The Wilson Center and The Park East Hotel Rooftop Jazz Series. Along with an impressive performing schedule, Barbara also teaches jazz/pop voice at the local music conservatory. Check her out!!!
