Frederick Rothberg : Piano Solos

Rivers Without End is Frederick Rothberg's (AKA Frederick Nighthawk) first solo piano release with Red Mountain Records. These 12 new distinctive compositions show the wide range of textures, emotions, and styles that Frederick can draw on as a composer/pianist. From the lyrical title track "Rivers Without End", to the Flamenco inspired "Rio Grande", and "Blue Mesa", he creates vivid musical landscapes for the listener. Frederick's joy of New Orleans rhythm and blues piano is evident in his performances of "Booker's Dream" (for the late piano great James Booker), the slinky magical "Hocus Pocus", and the Mardi Gras majesty of "Magnolias In June". Fans of barrelhouse boogie will delight in the burning blues of "Rolling To Memphis", "Sugarcane", and "Midnight Boogie".The simplicity and beauty of Frederick's piano solos can be heard in the melodic "Let The Night Begin", the ethereal "In The Land Of Dreams", and the whispers of night in "When Blue Shadows Fall", the closing song of this groundbreaking collection.

Rivers Without End is perfect for meditative moods and reveries, long drives, candlelit dinners, and romantic interludes.
