"...Anya Singleton is one of the most consciously retro artists I've yet found, taking the full-throated jazz auteur persona and playing it to the hilt...Singleton has marvelous vocal control, milks every ounce of emotion...she's got a gorgeous timbre to her voice"
- Joe McCombs - Starpolish.com

"...Anya Singleton has a voice that shows depth and polish far beyond her years."
- Princeton Packet

"The aptly named Singleton truly stands alone in her stage presence and her ability to connect with the audience...makes you want to stand up and cheer."
- The Trenton Times

"Don't let her diminutive size fool you. This little gal can wrap herself around a song and bring...[a song] to life with just the right-blend of innocence, and feistiness...she has a rich, earth-tone voice that can handle humor...as well as caress an audience..."
- The Weirs Times

Anya Singleton was born in Tunis, Tunisia, and spent most of her childhood in South Africa and England, where she was encouraged to follow her colorful imagination and day-dreams and in the process discovered that music and theater gave her strength and left her with a sense of peace and self-awareness that nothing else could.

Anya won a scholarship to Emerson College, where she studied with acting legend Kristin Linklater, and graduated summa cum laude with a B.F.A. in Acting and Musical Theater. Following graduation, Anya was commissioned to take her award-winning one-woman show, "The Odd Couple - Female Version" to Belgium and Holland. Favorite roles include: Rosalind in As You Like It, Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun, Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense, Janie in Isn't it Romantic and Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream. She also created the role of Angelina in North Shore Music Theater's new musical Sea Change.

Anya recently had a successful, almost completely sold-out show at the famed New York Triad Theater, and was invited back on the spot. She also performed in Feeling Electric, a new rock musical written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey at the Sh-k-Boom Cutting Room with Sherie Rene Scott (AIDA, Tommy, The Last Five Years), Norbert Leo Butz (Rent, The Last Five Years), Greg Naughton and Ben Schrader. She appeared in "Bound for Broadway II" at the Merkin Concert Hall, and has also been featured at Lincoln Center, Don't Tell Mama, the Triad and various regional houses in the Tri-State area. Anya works consistently as a voice-over and commercial actress, and has appeared in independent films and on televisions shows, such as Law & Order and Sex and the City. Her latest production is her self-titled CD, on which she collaborated with Joey Melotti, Liza Minnelli's musical director, and in-demand guitarist Michael Aarons.

Her next project will be appearing in the feature film Mona Lisa's Smile, which stars Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst and Julia Stiles.
