I made up some of these guitar pieces, and others come from various heroes of mine, notably Big Bill, Gary Davis and Joseph Spence. The album title, 'Ridiculous Instrumentals', is a funny way of suggesting I've been playing a long time, and I'm good enough at it so I don't have to give it up quite yet. I was inspired by Rev. Davis when I was fifteen, and in the course of my life (to my endless surprise), a few good people have been inspired in turn by my playing.

What I'm proud of is the long term commitment to basic forms, knowledge and history these good people and I share, along with some honed creative impulses. These aren't the hardest pieces in the world, but they're hard enough, and if you chew on them for a while, your chops will likely get better. Leastways, they probably won't get worse...
